Study Title: Accommodation Experiences of Disabled Social Work Students in Canada
Funding: Memorial University Vice-President Research Startup Support; Mitacs Globalink Research Internship program
About the Study:
This national research project explores the experiences of disabled social work students and students with disabilities in Canadian post-secondary programs. We are particularly interested in understanding how students navigate academic and field placement accommodations, and how they perceive the support they receive from accessibility services, faculty, and field education staff.
The goal of this study is to identify common barriers and strengths in current accessibility practices and to co-create recommendations to improve inclusion and support in social work education across Canada.
Progress: We are currently engaged in recruitment!
Project Coordinators:
- Sean Fardy, BEd, MEd, PhD Student (Education, Memorial University)
