I’m really happy to share that I’ve been awarded a 2026 AtlanticOER Development Grant to support a new project focused on academic integrity in social work education.
This project, The Academic Integrity Module for Undergraduate Social Work Students, will involve developing a series of asynchronous learning modules designed specifically for undergraduate social work students. The goal is to support students in building a strong understanding of academic integrity, while also making clear connections to ethical practice in social work.
Academic integrity is often taught in quite general ways, but in social work, it’s deeply tied to professional values, such as honesty, accountability, and responsibility to individuals and communities. This project is an opportunity to make those connections more explicit and meaningful within a social work context.
The modules will be designed with accessibility and flexibility in mind, and will be freely available as open educational resources (OER). I’m especially excited about the potential for this work to be adapted and used by other social work programs across the country! We plan to pilot the modules in September and are looking forward to sharing more as the project develops.
We will be hiring a graduate assistant to support this project. More information about graduate assistantships at Memorial University is available at the School of Graduate Studies website.
This project is supported through the AtlanticOER Development Grants, which provide funding to educators across Atlantic Canada to create and adapt open educational resources that reflect local contexts and support student learning.
