We’re pleased to share the launch of a new Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) on Gender-Based Violence and Intimate Partner Violence, hosted through the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research (NLCAHR) at Memorial University.
The Exchange will be co-convened by Dr. Ami Goulden (CARES Lab, Memorial University), Emma Duke (The Journey Project), and Stacey Hoffe (Mokami Status of Women Council). The RKE will bring together researchers, community organizations, service providers, students, advocates, and individuals with lived and living experience who share an interest in understanding and addressing gender-based violence.

An important goal of the Exchange is to create opportunities for collaboration and learning across research, policy, and practice. We recognize that valuable knowledge comes from many sources, including community experience, frontline practice, and lived experience. By bringing these perspectives together, we hope to strengthen connections, share knowledge, identify gaps, and explore opportunities for future research and community initiatives.
Join Us for Our First Meeting!
Our inaugural meeting takes place today, Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 12:30–2:00 p.m. Newfoundland Time, via Zoom. This first meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to introduce themselves, share their interests, and help shape the priorities and future activities of the Exchange. Participation is free and open to anyone interested in the topic. Whether your interest comes from research, professional practice, community involvement, or personal experience, we welcome your participation.
